      This annotated bibliography is written for teachers of students of multiracial, multicultural backgrounds. The materials are for all age groups and are concerned primarily with the problems and interests of immigrants in Britain. The contents include: (1) reference books; (2) Department of Education and Science publications; (3) Schools Council publications; (4) materials for teaching English. An annotated bibliography is an organized list of sources with accompanying paragraphs, called annotations. The purpose of the annotation is to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy, and quality of the source, and to state how this source will be used in the paper or project.

      An annotated bibliography is the full APA reference of a source followed by notes and commentary about a source. The word “annotate” means “critical or explanatory notes” and the word “bibliography” means “a list of sources”. Annotations are meant to be critical in addition to being descriptive.
